Here’s a few more from Amber and Chris‘ gorgeous wedding at the Boettcher Mansion on top of Lookout Mountain.  Man…I can still taste the yummy  Sweet Cow Ice Cream from the ice cream truck that made an appearance at Amber and Chris’ wedding reception!  We may have to take a trip up there to get some more of that! :)

Sarcasm and humor go a long way with us.  Ice cream doesn’t hurt either!  I’m pretty sure that Amber and Chris would agree with both of those statements!  :)  That’s why we knew that working with these two was going to be an absolute blast – and they certainly didn’t disappoint!  Andrew and I loved celebrating with Amber and Chris during their wedding at the Boettcher Mansion on top of Lookout Mountain.  There were two highlights from their wedding for us…

1.  Getting to see two people who are so obviously in love – take the big leap and say “I do.”

2.  Ending the evening in the perfect way – enjoying some delicious ice cream from the Sweet Cow Ice Cream truck that made an appearance at Amber and Chris’ wedding reception!  YUM! :)

When we first met Mandy and Kevin for ice cream to discuss photography for their wedding…we knew instantly that these two were going to be so much fun to work with!  Their laid-back personalities, paired with their love of laughter made them the perfect match for us!  Andrew and I were so blessed to be there with Mandy and Kevin on their wedding day – as they celebrated in Colorado’s wine country, the small town of Palisade.  The Canyon Wind Cellars vineyard served as the perfect venue for these two, who were married surrounded by the grape vines.  Special thanks to Karen with The Garden Path, Co for helping to make the whole day run smoothly…and for making all of the beautiful flowers for the day!  Enjoy!

We used to fight like cats and dogs.  Most of our weekends were filled with one or both of us being sent to our respective rooms by our loving mother – God, that woman had some serious patience!  :)  He is 7 years older than me…and in my opinion, his endless pestering and teasing helped to make me into the strong woman that I am today.  (Not that I didn’t pester and tease him relentlessly too!  I did once nearly give him a concussion after kneeing him in the head.  In my defense…he was lying on top of me and wouldn’t let me up!)  It wasn’t until I was a freshman in college that I finally got fed up with his teasing on a family vacation to Disney World…and turned around and socked him so hard in the chest that he nearly lost his breath…and the teasing stopped.  But all joking aside, my brother Dave is probably one of the most caring, selfless, charismatic and amazing men that I know.  So imagine how happy the whole family was when he finally proposed to his wonderful girlfriend of 3 years, Jess!  We knew these two were the perfect match…and we couldn’t wait to officially call Jess and her two adorable daughters, Kalie and Sam, part of the family.

We did have to wait a bit longer for the wedding…but it was totally worth it – as Dave and Jess decided to get married surrounded by their closest family and friends in an intimate ceremony and reception at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic!  We enjoyed spending the week with family…swimming in the pool, sitting by the ocean and soaking up the sun.  Then it was time to celebrate with my big brother and his beautiful new wife!

Dave and Jess – we feel so blessed to have you and the girls in our lives.  Thank you for choosing us to be your wedding day photographers…I couldn’t imagine it any differently!  Looking forward to the many memories to come!

So clearly…I’m a bit behind on blogging.  I swear…it’s the baby!  :)  But alas…finally it’s Beth and Shawn’s turn on the blog!  Beth and Shawn were married this summer in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton, CO…followed by a fun reception at Hudson Gardens.  These two were so easy to work with – laid back, full of humor and obviously head over heels for each other…what more could we ask for?!?

Beth and Shawn – we are so happy for you both and we hope that the first months of marriage have been wonderful.  We’re so grateful for having been there with you on your very special day…congratulations!

Life is about to get a bit more interesting.  We are happy to announce that as of this Tuesday, our baby is full-term!  So now we wait.

We wait…spending many a sleepless nights wondering what parenthood will be like…what labor will be like…what our lives will be like from now on.

We wait…wondering if it’s a boy or girl.

We wait…wondering if it’ll look like its’ daddy (with those rosy cheeks, long eyelashes and hazel eyes…no Andrew, they aren’t just brown).

We wait…wondering if it’ll be like its’ momma (with that crazy and often times unmanageable hair, olive complexion and picky eating habits).

We wait…knowing that we’ve already been blessed with the most incredible gift from God.

We wait…already so in love with this little human we’ve never met.

We wait…to meet our first born – and for our parents and loved ones to welcome him or her into their lives with overflowing love.

We are truly blessed!  We’ll keep you updated with an introduction soon!  But for now, we appreciate your continued support and prayers for us and Baby Schaefer.  In the mean time…please enjoy a few photos of the baby bump!  (These were taken around Christmas…so it’s much larger now!)

Who knew that you could get married at a castle…in Colorado?  Emily and Ryan chose the perfect venue for their big day.  Cherokee Ranch and Castle has the “old world” feel that they were looking for…and a killer view of the Rocky Mountains.  What more could you ask for?!?  We had such a wonderful time working with these two this year – and their wedding day certainly didn’t disappoint on fun details!  Here are some of our favorites…be sure to check back for Part 2!
