Customer Service… | 03.24.2009 IN Main BY Andrew

Customer service is a topic I really enjoy discussing and I love trying to make our service even better. If you stop and think about customer service there are so few times when we are actually amazed by how great it is. Most of the service we receive today is what I call “indifferent” customer service. Meaning it’s not great and it’s not bad…it just is. The “art” of customer service is fading and we’re beginning to accept the mediocre service we seem to get all the time.

Certainly we don’t have the perfect philosohpy or implementation but we do try everyday to make sure that our customers are happy and taken care of. I also make it a point to complement great service and inform employers when I receive less than stellar service. Yes I’ve callen restaurants to tell the manager about great service we had the night before and I’ve also talked to the manager at the restaurant when our service was poor. I don’t do it to complain or be “one of those customers,” and I certainly don’t do it to get a discount or a free meal.

I do it because customer service is the one area of a business where everyone has the potential to make a difference. Every interaction with a customer or client is an opportunity to make a great impression and offer the most outstanding service possible.

If you’re a photographer and part of MHP we’re going to be discussing customer service at our meeting tonight so I hope you can make it. (If you’re a photographer and not part of MHP then let me know and I’ll get you in.)
