I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas weekend. Jessica and I love this holiday and we probably go a little overboard with gift giving and decorating (although we’re quite happy with our level of Christmas fun…) And yes we do have 3 inflatable decorations in our front yard…a Santa, a reindeer and a tree.

Christmas was always a big holiday in my family every and we’ve continued that tradition even though my sisters and I are older. Christmas Eve has always been celebrated with a big seafood dinner and this year we all helped with the preparation. Peeling and skewering shrimp, crackikng crab legs to get the meat out, stuffing the squid (yes we do that) baking cookies and everything else that allows us to create such a wonderful meal. My family has been doing this for longer than I’ve been alive and I’m so excited that we continue this tradition.

Christmas morning always means getting up early and opening presents, the last few years Jessica and I drive to my parents house and wake up my sisters. We go down the stairs to see what “Santa” has left for us. Yes “Santa” still comes. We spend the morning together laughing and enjoying each others company.

Christmas night is always spent at my grandparents house; this year my grandma made dinner for 34 people. It meant even more this year because grandma was only 6 months removed from 2 hip surgeries and granpda was 6 months removed from a minor heart operation. They are in their mid 80’s and still managed to go shopping for everyone, make a wonderful dinner and have the energy to enjoy every second of it.

This year we also got out the old Super 8 videos that my grandpa has, setup the projector and watched old home movies. Some almost 50 years old.

So the last few days were just about as perfect as they could be. I hope you can say the same for your Christmas and holiday celebrations.

We also wanted to post a copy of the Christmas card we sent out so that we can share it with everyone!
