I was so happy to sit down and chat with Marytheresa Paetow of Noelani Design yesterday!  Marytheresa is a professional hairstylist serving amazing brides all over the Denver area.  If you’re a bride that is searching for a hairstylist to pull off something special for your wedding day…definitely go check out Marytheresa’s work on her website or give her a call!  Here’s a bit more of what I learned about her as we sipped on hot chocolate and coffee during our meeting yesterday…by the way…I can’t wait for some consistently warm Colorado weather!  (Does that even exist?!?)

How did you get started as a hairstylist?

I always knew that I wanted to work as a hairstylist!  I always loved watching my hairstylist create my haircuts and styles.  I would then go home and try to recreate the same styleWhile I never styled my hair the same way, I always ended up creating new ways to wear my hair.  I eventually began working with Toni & Guy – completing numerous up-dos for prom and bridal clients.  After training in the US and London, I took a job on a cruise ship, creating hairstyles for international clients formal evenings.  I then ventured out to start my own business!

How long have you been in business?

I’ve been in business for 6 years, although I’ve been styling hair for 11 years.

Where are you located…how can brides get in contact with you?

Noelani Design is located inside Bellezza Salon along with other beauty related businesses.  Brides can contact me by phone or through my website.

Tell us about the wedding day services that you provide.

Ultimately, I want the bride’s entire wedding day to be smooth, fun and relaxing – with absolutely no worries about their hair!  I’m able to work on location, creating the perfect up-dos or styles for the bride, bridesmaids and moms.  Depending on the number of girls, I either work alone or I’ll have an assistant there to help me.

What is your favorite thing about what you do?

Creating a new look!  Your hair always moves in different directions, so whether it’s allowing it to be put up, smoothed out or blown out with some waves I love working to make you as beautiful as you always dreamed that you’d be on that special day!

What advice do you have for brides that are searching for a hairstylist?

When searching for a bridal hairstylist, ask questions!  What are their prices?  Do they go on location?  Is there an extra charge for traveling costs?  Do they have a portfolio of some of their past work?  Will they do a trial?  Also, it’s important for your hairstylist to know all of the important details about the wedding day.  What time of the day will you need to be finished with hair?  How many bridesmaids will be getting their hair done?  Are you wearing a veil?  Are there any special clips that you want incorporated into your hairstyle?
