Andrew and I met Liz and Kris up in Breckenridge to shoot their engagement pictures this past Saturday and I think we’re still laughing! Liz and Kris are so full of life and laughter and we couldn’t be more excited for their wedding! They’ll be getting married in Golden this February. Here are a few of our favorites from the session…

I love the way Liz is looking at Kris in the picture on the left.

I love all of the little alleys up in Breckenridge.

Where it all started…

They’re such a cute couple!

After shooting in town we headed up towards Boreas Pass to get some sweet mountain views. Meet Dusty…Liz and Kris’ adorable dog.

Liz and Kris – Thanks for keeping us entertained and we can’t wait for the wedding!

We had a blast taking Joel and Katie’s engagement pictures in downtown Denver. Joel is a college friend of ours and when we met Katie for the first time, we knew that he had found his perfect match! Joel and Katie are getting married this summer in Minnesota and we can’t wait – it’s going to be such a great wedding! Here are a few of our favorites from their engagement session…

I love the expression on Katie’s face in this picture. So peaceful and content.

Joel and Katie – thanks for heading out in the cold with us to take these pictures! We can’t wait for July!

Over the past month Andrew and I have been going through the process of deciding on what pictures to enlarge for the VOWS office space. Needless to say, it’s been a long and painful process. After searching through thousands of pictures we finally placed our order to Pixel 2 Canvas (An awesome canvas company located in Southern California.) Several weeks later, Andrew received a phone call from Pixel 2 Canvas and was informed that one of his photos was chosen as “Canvas of the Month.” We were quite excited and wanted to thank Jon and Mollie for helping us capture this awesome picture! Congrats you two! We can’t wait for the wedding in just a few weeks! :)

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been one year since we photographed Becky and Kevin’s wedding at the Chapel at Red Rocks and the Oxford Hotel. When Becky contacted us to see if we would like to take some pictures of them one year later…we were ecstatic! Becky and Kevin’s personalities seem to compliment each other perfectly…and life will soon change for them in a very big way. Becky is 5 months pregnant, expecting their first baby! Andrew and I always love when our past wedding clients continue to contact us as their families begin to grow. We feel truly blessed to be working with such incredible couples and families who graciously open their lives to us…even for just a brief moment of time. Here are a few of our favorites from the session…

We headed back up to Red Rocks…and just like their wedding day – it was COLD! But they braved the weather for us again! :)

They are such an adorable couple!

Becky’s “budda belly”…she’s looking pretty darn good for being 5 months pregnant!

WINDY!

I love this picture that Andrew captured!

There’s that cute belly again! :)

Becky and Kevin – thank you for again allowing us to photograph an important moment in your lives! We can’t wait to meet the new addition to the family!

Yesterday Andrew and I had the pleasure of photographing Kerri Butler and her beautiful family. Kerri Butler of A Touch of Bliss is a fantastic wedding consultant located in Denver, and also the founder of the VOWS wedding collective which will be opening in December. As we announced yesterday, we will be joining the VOWS team. We are so excited to be working with Kerri and the rest of the VOWS team…it’s going to be a blast! Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the session…

Kerri with her husband Scott and their adorable little guy, Benjamin.

We headed up to the grounds around the Boettcher Mansion for some fun snowy pictures…I love this series of Benjamin exploring the snow with Mommy and Daddy.

What is this cold, white, wet stuff on my hands?? So cute! :)

Mommy helping Benjamin sweep off the snow.

This is one adorable kid! Seriously! Kerri and Scott – you did good! :)

More playing in the snow…

Kerri and Scott – thank you for allowing us to photograph your beautiful family. We are so excited about the adventures to come!

SNOW, Snow, snow…Colorado weather is always a bit of a crap shoot. We were supposed to take Jon and Mollie’s engagement pictures a couple of weeks ago, but we got a big snow storm in Denver and had to cancel. We agreed to shoot this weekend…rain, snow or shine – and snow it did! Jon is one of Andrew’s best friends, so we feel very privileged to be shooting their wedding in Little Rock, Arkansas in January. We’re so excited for the wedding – it’s going to be a blast! Here are a few of our favorites from the session…

First, we headed over to Cheesman Park. The snow continued to fall harder and harder…but it made for some cool pictures. Needless to say, we were all soaking wet very quickly!

Later in the evening we headed out to downtown Denver for the rest of the engagment session. The snow continued to fall, but Jon and Mollie were such troopers! We started at Union Station and then wandered the streets.

I love this series! So cute!

Andrew and I played around with some off camera lighting.

Love this one of them walking down the alley.

Jon and Mollie – congratulations! We couldn’t be happier for you and we are so excited for your wedding! Thanks for putting up with all of our silly requests in the cold and snow! :)

Time flies! Seriously! I can remember being a 9 year old when I met my youngest cousin Megan for the first time. Playing hide-and-go-seek with her in our grandparent’s cluttered basement. Now, she’s already a senior at Windsor High School and will soon be venturing off to college! Unbelieveable…man I feel old! :) Megan, and almost the rest of the family, drove down to Denver to take her senior pictures. We headed over to the Lakewood Heritage Center and were able to find a great variety of locations to use for backdrops. Here are a few of our favorites from the session…

Megan is heading off to the University of Northern Colorado to play softball! She signs her letter of intent today!

My cousin Erin got to join in on the fun. I think I told them to look awkwardly at each other…and this is what I got! Love it! Erin also plays softball at UNC – it’s turning into a family affair! :)

This sequence cracks me up. Earlier in the session, Erin was telling a story about how she saw some other girl taking her senior pictures and the photographer was making her throw leaves in the air. Erin thought it was super cheesy…so just to torture her a little – I made her and Megan do the same thing. I joked with them after the session that these were going to be some of the best photos from the day…and you know what, they are! :)

(Sorry Erin…but I had to do it!)

Megan, I am so proud of all that you’ve accomplished and I am so excited to see where this life takes you! I’m also incredibly excited that you’ll be playing with your sister at the college level…I know you two will have a blast! We’ll be sure to make it to a few of your games. I wish you the absolute best and congratulations!! :)

It’s been over a year since we photographed Kelly and Jonathan’s wedding at the Boettcher Mansion on Lookout Mountain. A lot has changed in a year…and now there is a new addition to welcome to the family. Jack is now a big brother and baby Grey couldn’t be cuter. We met Kelly, Jonathan and the two boys at Denver’s Wash Park last month for some fun, relaxed family pictures. Grandma even tagged along and got some great pictures with the boys! The weather was warm and beautiful and we had such a blast taking pictures of this beautiful family! Here are a few of our favorites from the session…

Meet baby Grey…those cheeks and big blue eyes are to die for!

Here’s big brother Jack. I love this one that Andrew captured…so fun!

Kelly, Jonathan and the boys. What a happy family!

Grandma looking so joyful holding her newest grandson.

Jack was having a great time riding the chipmunk!

I love the wonder in Grey’s face as he investigated the grass and leaves.

The whole family in front of the Wash Park boathouse.

Here’s Jack with Daddy! He’s such a happy little boy!

I love the look on Kelly’s face in this one.

I mean come on…this is one adorable kid!

And so is this! Kelly and Jonathan – you’ve done good! :)

I love the way Jonathan and Jack are looking at Kelly in this one.

A couple more of Grey.

Jonathan and Kelly…

Kelly and Jonathan, thank you for allowing us to photograph your beautiful family. Jack and Grey are two cute little boys and we can’t wait to see them grow up! We wish the best for you all!

It’s been about 6 months since our last portrait session with the Donovan Family and we can’t believe how big these kids have gotten! A few weeks ago, Audrey and Bryon again opened their home to Andrew and I and allowed us to capture some fun, relaxed moments of their beautiful family. We got connected with the Donovan’s through the Denver S.T.O.R.M (Super Twins of the Rocky Mountains) group. STORM is a Colorado based nonprofit support group for families of triplets or higher order multiples. We’ve photographed several sessions for families with triplets, and it’s always such a blast! Here are a couple of our favorite pictures from the session…

Bryon is a big Dallas Cowboys fan…so the whole family played along. Even though Andrew and I are die-hard Denver Broncos fans, we made an exception for this great family!

Here’s Alayna…she just celebrated her 3rd birthday! Isn’t she the cutest thing you’ve ever seen! Watch out boys…this girl is going to break your heart!

Alayna is so full of spirit and joy! I love these pictures of her dancing and twirling in her tutu.

Here’s Hudson…the only boy and one of the triplets. He’s full of life and holds his own with all of those girls! I love the one with the broom…he looks so tough! :)

This is a picture that Andrew captured as he escaped from the rest of the family while we were trying to get a family picture…sneaky boy!

Here’s Kennedy…another one of the triplets! She was all smiles during the session and so much fun to photograph.

Audrey and Bryon got the kids this sweet bounce house as a present and gave it to them on the day of the session…it was a great idea for making sure we captured all of their individual smiles!

And here’s Reese…the last of the triplets. She was a little more reserved when she first got in the bounce house…

But she quickly loosened up and was having a blast with her brother and sisters. She has the most beautiful bright blue eyes!

The happy family!

Bryon with Hudson…I love the expression on his face in this one!

We took these pictures before Halloween, so naturally…we had to get some pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes. This may be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. The theme was the Wizard of Oz…Alayna was Dorothy, Kennedy was the Scarecrow, Reese was the Cowardly Lion and Hudson was the Tin Man. How cute is that!

Dorothy…(and Toto of course!)

Dorothy (Alayna) eventually ditched the wig! HA! :)

Mommy with Kennedy and Daddy with Hudson.

Audrey and Bryon, thank you for again allowing us into your lives. Your beautiful family is so full of energy and love and your kids are simply adorable. We look forward to watching them grow up! Thanks again!

On a side note, if you are a member of STORM and are looking for some fun, relaxed portraits of your children and family…or even if you’re not a member of STORM…give us a call! We’d love to work with you!

Katie said she wanted water and flowers for her senior pictures and thought that Denver’s Wash Park would be a great location…we agreed. Katie is Andrew’s cousin…and it’s hard to believe that she is old enough to be a senior in high school! Soon she’ll be heading off for new adventures and the excitement of college. Katie did an amazing job and we were blessed with some great weather and great light when we went out for senior pictures. Katie is an amazing young girl and we’re so excited for her. Here’s a few of our favorites…

Here’s Katie working it in front of the Wash Park boathouse…seriously, this girl could model!

Andrew has some great video footage of me helping Katie get the the rocks in the middle of the lake at Wash Park. It was a harrowing adventure…but Katie was a trooper and survived without getting the slightest bit wet!

On the steps by the boathouse…

Ahh…there’s the pretty light!

There’s that water again! Thanks for playing along with all of our silly requests, Katie!

Andrew and I wish you all the best in your senior year of high school! We are so excited to see what life has in store for you!

Much Love ~ Jessica
