Occasionally Andrew and I will get an inquiry from a couple seeking to have engagement pictures taken locally.  Typically they are getting married out of state and just want to have some pictures taken in Colorado.  We’re always a bit anxious as we drive to the shoot.  After all, we’ve never met the couple and we really never know what to fully expect.  It always turns out just fine…and we always walk away from the engagement sessions saying “Dang, wish we could shoot the wedding!”

This was exactly the case with Brigid and Patrick.  They are getting married in New York next month, but wanted some engagement pictures in their hometown of Boulder…a place that reflects them at this time in their lives.  They had the best idea for a location for the shoot!  Their home overlooks a real-life working farm, complete with chickens, cows and peacocks…yes, peacocks (apparently they scare away the coyotes).  So Brigid and Patrick got up the courage to ask the property’s owners if it would be alright to take some pictures on their land, and we’re so happy that they said yes!  It was so much fun shooting around the animals, hay and barns…we could have stayed and photographed there all night!

Brigid and Patrick – Thank you so much for opening your lives to us, even if only for a brief moment.  You’re absolutely adorable together and we’re so happy that everything worked out.  We wish you the absolute best and be sure to send us a link to some of the wedding pictures…and yes, we really do wish we could be there!  :)

Kind of a funny moment.  While shooting around the property we all looked up to our car and saw one of the peacocks on the hood.  He left a nice present on there for us too! :)

We are so thrilled to be working with Katie and Andy this year!  We can’t wait for their wedding this October at the Boettcher Mansion on top of Lookout Mountain…it’s going to be outstanding!  We met Katie and Andy for a chilly winter engagement session in Boulder’s Chautauqua Park earlier this month.  They were such great troopers, hanging out in the cold as we torchered them by taking lots of pictures!  :)  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy!

They met for the first time through a mutual friend in Atlanta.  Six months later, her number still remained in his phone…though he never once dialed.  For some reason he couldn’t find it in himself to get rid of that one number.  Luck (or fate) would bring them to the same place again at an Atlanta Braves game – and now in a little over two weeks Rebecca and Adam will tie the knot surrounded by their closest friends and family at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden, Colorado!

We met Rebecca and Adam up at Chautauqua Park in Bouder last Monday for a few rustic, Colorado mountain engagement pictures before heading into town for a more urban feel.  When we first met them back in February, we knew instantly that they were going to be so much fun to work with.  Sarcastic, excited, funny and fun-loving – that’s just our type!  We had such a blast shooting their engagement pictures and we can’t wait for the wedding…here are a few of our favorites from their session.  Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

You know the saying that “distance makes the heart grow fonder?”  I don’t know if I’ve ever really believed that saying to be true.  I’ve heard of so many relationships turning sour by separation and distance.  Careers or school take you to different states and typically it’s bye bye relationship.  The two individuals begin to grow apart and eventually the relationship ends.  But Andrew and Erin seem to be the ultimate exception to the rule.  After meeting in college while attending the University of Colorado…these two have spent nearly as much time living apart from each other as they have together…and they are still going strong.  That’s something that cannot be said for most couples – and is a huge testament to Andrew and Erin’s relationship.  So this June, all of their long-distance phone calls and planned monthly trips to visit will come to an end as they’ll finally settle in as husband and wife.  Andrew and I had such a great time photographing Erin and Andrew this past weekend up in Boulder and we are so excited to celebrate their wedding day with them at Hudson Gardens next month!  I’ll leave you with a few of our favorite pictures from their session – be sure to check back for their wedding pictures and leave us a comment!

We started the evening in Boulder’s Chautauqua park.  We always love shooting at Chautauqua because there are so many fun places to take pictures!

Erin had her make-up done by the ever so talented Janine Schmenk of Makeup by Janine and she looked absolutely stunning!  I love the picture on the right of them laughing!

After shooting in Chautauqua for a bit, we headed over to the CU campus for a few more pictures…
