So clearly we are WAY behind on blogging…but if you know anything about Andrew and I, it’s that we love Christmas!  I mean, we really love Christmas…to the point that we have a Christmas countdown on our computer year-round.  It’s 312 days away…just in case you were wondering! :)  So we apologize for our slacking in the blogging department…we’ve got a lot of catching up to do!  But we figured there wouldn’t be any better place than to start back up with Kelsey and Chris’ adorable engagement session in Vail, CO during the holidays.

We love when we meet with a couple and instantly know that we want to work with them; and that’s exactly how we felt meeting Kelsey and Chris.  They are getting married at the Vail Cascade in September of this year and we are very excited for their day!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy! :)

So get this…Beth and Shawn met at a wedding that we photographed!  In fact, Beth was a bridesmaid at the wedding.  How sweet is that?!?  And of course we were even more excited when Cassie and Nate passed our names along to these two when they started planning their wedding.  Heck, that’s the best compliment we can get! :)  We were certainly looking forward to officially meeting them while they were out in Colorado around the Holidays.  Their idea for the perfect engagement session…open fields of a snow!  We found the perfect location up in Evergreen and it even began to snow towards the end of the session…perfect!  Here are a few of our favorites…

The Holidays are almost here and it seems like we’ve been flying around like crazy…trying to get everything finished!  I’m happy to announce that I’m done with all of my shopping, baking and wrapping!  (Imagine me wiping my brow.)  I finally had a chance to sit down and get Mandy and Kevin’s blog post up too!  Hey…look at me go! :)

When we first met Mandy and Kevin over some delicious ice cream we knew that they were going to be a blast to work with…so we were definitely excited to see them again for their engagement session about a month ago!  We headed down to Parker for a fun evening of shooting, wind (quite miserable wind actually…but they were total troopers), lots of laughter, yummy food and a wonder dog named Finn!  We had such a great time with these two and we are so excited for their wedding next September at the Canyon Wind Cellars in Palisade, CO.  Can’t wait!  Here are our favorites from the day…enjoy! :)

We’ve been busy little bees over here…editing away at weddings and engagement sessions.  So we’ll have plenty to share over the next couple of weeks.  But today it’s Andrea and Dave’s turn!  After meeting Andrea and Dave for the first time a few weeks ago…we knew that they were a good fit for us!  They are fun and easy-going…full of laughter and so obviously in love!  We had such a great time with them last week during their engagement session.  We headed to the park where they first met.  It happened by chance, but if you ask me it must have been fate.  She was walking her dog…he was walking his dog (all I picture is 101 Dalmations, with the dogs tangling the two of them up in the leashes!)  We can’t wait for their wedding next July at the Greenbriar Inn!  Here are some of our favorites…

Occasionally Andrew and I will get an inquiry from a couple seeking to have engagement pictures taken locally.  Typically they are getting married out of state and just want to have some pictures taken in Colorado.  We’re always a bit anxious as we drive to the shoot.  After all, we’ve never met the couple and we really never know what to fully expect.  It always turns out just fine…and we always walk away from the engagement sessions saying “Dang, wish we could shoot the wedding!”

This was exactly the case with Brigid and Patrick.  They are getting married in New York next month, but wanted some engagement pictures in their hometown of Boulder…a place that reflects them at this time in their lives.  They had the best idea for a location for the shoot!  Their home overlooks a real-life working farm, complete with chickens, cows and peacocks…yes, peacocks (apparently they scare away the coyotes).  So Brigid and Patrick got up the courage to ask the property’s owners if it would be alright to take some pictures on their land, and we’re so happy that they said yes!  It was so much fun shooting around the animals, hay and barns…we could have stayed and photographed there all night!

Brigid and Patrick – Thank you so much for opening your lives to us, even if only for a brief moment.  You’re absolutely adorable together and we’re so happy that everything worked out.  We wish you the absolute best and be sure to send us a link to some of the wedding pictures…and yes, we really do wish we could be there!  :)

Kind of a funny moment.  While shooting around the property we all looked up to our car and saw one of the peacocks on the hood.  He left a nice present on there for us too! :)

We can’t wait for Stacey and Sean’s wedding coming up this October at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden!  If it’s anything like last Friday night when we got together for their engagement session in downtown Denver…it’s sure to be a heck of a good time!  Congratulations, you two…can’t wait for the wedding! :)  Here are a few of our favorites…

They met in Vegas.  I know, right?  :)  She was there for business, he was there for pleasure…and I’m pretty sure neither of them expected to find the love of their life on a trip to Vegas…but they did!  They were married this week and promised their families that they’d get some pictures taken after the fact…and we’re sure glad they called us!  We met Brittany and Josh on Wednesday in downtown Denver for a few fun portraits.  We had such a great time with Brittany and Josh and we couldn’t be more happy and excited for them!

Brittany and Josh – Thanks so much for inviting us into your lives, even if for only a brief moment!  And of course, thank you for the sacrifices that you’ll both be making for our country in the year to come.  If it weren’t for brave men and women like you Josh, this place wouldn’t be the same!  And Brittany, I imagine a lot of what will keep him staying strong during his deployment is knowing that he’ll be coming home to his loving wife!  Stay safe out there and hurry home…to DENVER that is!  :)

He grew up in Longmont with gorgeous views of the Northern Rocky Mountains.  She’s a Texas girl whose family now lives on the plains of Eastern Colorado.  When we sat down with Kaitie and Klint to chat about ideas for their engagement session we decided that the perfect location for their engagement pictures needed both a mountain view and a Colorado plains feel.  Kaitie and Klint were able to find the perfect spot…a gorgeous farm right outside of Longmont.  (A huge thanks to Abby and Chris for letting us shoot on their property!)

We had such a great time with Kaitie and Klint (and their canine companions Butterfly and Duchess) this past Sunday and we can’t wait for their wedding in downtown Denver this July!  Here are some of our favorites from their rustic Colorado farm engagement session…enjoy!  :)

They both knew that there might be something there.  You know…something more than “just friends”.  Something that could be “it”.  It wasn’t too long after she moved to Denver that they were sure…this was definitely IT!  They remember the exact moment that they fell in love…on that playground in Breckenridge.  The same playground where he proposed months later.  When you know, you just know.

We had such an incredible time with Brika and Justin last week!  We headed out for some fun, urban engagement pictures in the Highlands and downtown Denver…and I think we laughed through the entire session!  Brika and Justin are full of life…and really just big kids at heart! :)  We can’t wait for their wedding this October at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden…it’s going to be amazing!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy! :)
