So clearly we are WAY behind on blogging…but if you know anything about Andrew and I, it’s that we love Christmas!  I mean, we really love Christmas…to the point that we have a Christmas countdown on our computer year-round.  It’s 312 days away…just in case you were wondering! :)  So we apologize for our slacking in the blogging department…we’ve got a lot of catching up to do!  But we figured there wouldn’t be any better place than to start back up with Kelsey and Chris’ adorable engagement session in Vail, CO during the holidays.

We love when we meet with a couple and instantly know that we want to work with them; and that’s exactly how we felt meeting Kelsey and Chris.  They are getting married at the Vail Cascade in September of this year and we are very excited for their day!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy! :)

A little over a month ago we were up in Golden for one of our last weddings of the year.  Stacey and Sean were married at the Boettcher Mansion at the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden.  It was a crisp, fall Colorado day…and it couldn’t have been more perfect for this pair!  Julie with Bliss Elevated made sure that they entire day ran smoothly!  Stacey and Sean are two of a kind.  Generous, kind, loving and completely hilarious!  We couldn’t have been more happy to be with them on their big day…here are some of our favorites…

I little over a month ago Andrew and I had the great pleasure of photographing Katie and Andy’s wedding up at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden.  Emily Lenich of Particulars Planning did an incredible job with all of the details of the day.  Despite the snowy and cold weather outside, the entire day went off without a hitch…well…I guess there was one hitch!  Katie and Andy got hitched!  :)  Congrats, you two!  We feel so lucky to have been there to celebrate with you!  Here are a few of our favorites from the day…

We love working with couples that are fun and have a great sense of humor.  Mostly because we like to think that we’re pretty fun and we certainly think we’re funny!  So when we first met Brika and Justin, we instantly knew that they we were going to have a blast working with them!  And we sure did!  Brika and Justin were married about a month ago up at the Boettcher Mansion at the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden.  They opted for a morning wedding…serving espresso and a yummy brunch.  They both love breakfast foods…so it was the perfect fit!  We loved being there with Brika & Justin and their family and friends on their big day – here are a few of our favorites!

We love the mountains.  The sounds, smells and feeling of freedom we get from the outdoors is certainly near and dear to our hearts.  So when we get to work with couples that feel the same way, it’s only a bonus!  We were so thrilled when we got the email from Jen inquiring about wedding photography.  We immediately remembered her from her sister’s wedding a couple of years ago and we were so excited to be working with her and Kevin (and their amazing families)!  Jen and Kevin are so sweet together…and I think it’s pretty obvious that they compliment each other perfectly.  Their adventurous spirits and laid-back, fun personalities will be sure to bring them many more happy days in the future!  Congratulations, you two!  We think the world of you both and we feel so very fortunate to have been there with you on your very special day.

Jen and Kevin were married in Estes Park at the YMCA of the Rockies Mountainside Chapel.  The Mountainside Chapel is tucked away up in the mountains with some really incredible views.  The lodge acted as the perfect place for getting ready, and the guests partied the night away, playing games and dancing at the pavilion nearby.  Be sure to check back soon for more photos from Jen and Kevin’s wedding in Part 2 of this blog post!

Jen’s ring was a hand-me-down from Kevin’s side of the family.  Isn’t it gorgeous?  And the ring box is the original!

As we were driving into Aspen for Jenny and Kip’s wedding, we of course found ourselves quoting the movie Dumb and Dumber (one of Andrew’s all-time favorites).  “Where the beer flows like wine and the women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano…a little place called Assssspen” and “I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this…that John Denver’s full of s*$!, man!” were some of our personal favorites!  So imagine our excitement and surprise upon checking into our hotel and receiving a lovely welcome bag full of yummy Colorado treats and a welcome letter from Jenny and Kip – with the first line reading one of the above quotes!  We knew it was going to be a great weekend! :)

Andrew and I had such an incredible time photographing Jenny and Kip’s gorgeous wedding at the Little Nell.  It was hard to narrow down my favorite pictures from the day, so there will be two parts to this blog post!  Be sure to check back for part 2 soon!

Jenny started the morning with some relaxing yoga in her hotel room.  They made sure to include a lot of sun salutations…which just might have made the difference later in the day when all the rain came in!

The ladies of Indie Six did an incredible job with the girl’s hair and makeup!

A piece from her grandmother’s wedding gown made the perfect bouquet wrap…and we were blown away with Perfect Petal’s gorgeous work on the flowers!

Kip is quite the fly fisherman.  He actually tried to do a little fishing on the wedding day, but I think the goldfish got the better of him! :)

A crazy thunderstorm came through, delaying the ceremony and leaving the guests waiting at the bottom of the mountain for the gondola to start up again!  Not so worry though, the Little Nell and the ladies from A Touch of Bliss were prepared with cocktails for the guests and the storm passed with plenty of time to still have the ceremony outside!  It made for some cool “waiting around” pictures, though!

Instead of doing a “first look” before the ceremony, Jenny and Kip opted for a special moment where they could talk and hold hands without seeing each other.  These are some of my favorites from the day!  Jenny’s expressions were so emotional…

As Jenny was nearing the end of the aisle her veil got stuck on the stairs!  The two played it off like it was nothing and had a few sarcastic remarks to lighten the mood…love this sequence!
