We met up with Jenny and Kip (some of The Beard’s earliest supporters) this past weekend for their engagement session!  We remember laughing our way through our first meeting with these two…and we continued right where we left off during their session!  I think Jenny and Kip may have been the first couple that we met with after Andrew decided that he was going to grown a beard.  They broke my heart and made Andrew’s head even bigger by proclaiming that they didn’t mind the beard…in fact, they liked it!  (Unfortunately for me the beard is still here…although it has been recently trimmed and it looks almost presentable!)

We had such a great time photographing Jenny and Kip and we are so unbelievably excited for their wedding at the Little Nell in Aspen this summer!  It’s going to be such an amazing wedding and we can’t wait to see these two tie the knot!  Here are a few of our favorite pictures from their session…enjoy! :)

Jenny and Kip brought their adorable (and HUGE) dog, Dexter with them as we took some photos around the University of Denver’s campus.  Dex was so well behaved…and a total chick magnet, FYI!

We headed over to Jenny and Kip’s house so that they could change clothes before heading out for some more pictures.  They have the cutest house so we took a few photos of them and Dex on the front porch.

Then we headed over to Wash Park for a few more photos as the sun was beginning to go down…

We ended up by the south lake at Wash Park…where Kip proposed to Jenny!

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful state!  We truly get to experience all of the different seasons!  I always have a hard time choosing which season is my favorite.  I love them all!  From the lush, green mountainsides and blooming trees of spring to the untouched, sparkling white snow in winter…Colorado really has it all.  That’s why so many people choose to get married at all different times during the year…you really can’t choose a wrong month!  Sure, you might have snow in September or 60 degrees and sun in the middle of January…but that’s all part of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains!

One of our favorite Colorado mountain wedding venues is Timber Ridge at the top of Keystone Resort.  Located at the top of North Peak, Timber Ridge offers a spacious mountain lodge atmosphere with gorgeous cathedral ceilings and a two-story fireplace.  The wooden deck offers stunning views of the Gore and Ten Mile Ranges and is the perfect spot for a romantic and secluded wedding ceremony.  And of course, your guests will love the gondola rides to the top of the mountain to celebrate with you on your big day!

Well we’ve finally had a chance to breathe…and it’s about time that we get caught up on blogging!  We had such a blast photographing Joel and Katie’s beautiful wedding in St. Cloud, Minnesota!  Neither Andrew nor myself had ever been to Minnesota…and upon hearing that our good college friend Joel would be getting married there in July…we were warned…bring bug spray!  Surprisingly, the mosquitoes didn’t eat us alive…and the weather wasn’t even too miserable!  We couldn’t have been more honored to photograph Joel and Katie’s wedding.  They are such a great couple and they were so much fun to work with!  Here are a few of our favorites from their big day…enjoy!

Okay don’t laugh…but this bouquet picture was taken against a trash dumpster.  Our friends were giving me a really hard time about that…but look at how cool this picture turned out!  :)

Joel and Katie were married at St. John’s Abbey which was an incredible setting for the ceremony.  The back wall of the Abbey is made entirely of stained-glass windows.

Andrew and I have been swamped lately…but I’m finally getting around to share some of the photos from Ashley and Kendall’s wedding in Breckenridge.  We met Ashley at her parent’s house…and were greeted with squeals of excitement as we saw her for the first time on her wedding day!  Ashley has this infectious personality…always happy and bubbly…just the type of person that you want to spend time with!  Kendall is her perfect compliment and we couldn’t have been more happy to share their special day with them.  Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the day…enjoy!

Ashley and Kendall opted to see each other before the wedding…but they still had a “first look” moment.  They were both so ecstatic to see each other all dolled up!

So sweet…

Ashley and Kendall were married in Breckenridge and had their reception amongst the ski slopes at the beautiful Ten Mile Station.  We took a few photos of them before heading down to the ceremony at Father Dyer Church.

I love the picture on the left…so sweet!  Don’t they look so happy?!?

Ashley, you are seriously gorgeous!

Bloom did a fabulous job with all of the flowers for the wedding.  Ashley’s great-grandmother was unable to attend the wedding…but she sent along the crocheted wrap that Ashley used for her flowers.  What a cute personal touch!  I loved her white peony bouquet…classically beautiful.

Ashley’s bridesmaids looked stunning in their adorable dresses from Anthropologie.

As they were leaving the church, Ashley and Kendall rang the church bells!  I loved that!  Look at their fabulous expressions…

Careful attention was paid to every detail at the reception.  The folks from Bella Designs did an amazing job bringing everything together and making the whole evening run smoothly.  How adorable are the guests place cards hanging with close-pins amongst pictures of Ashley and Kendall?

I love the rustic look of the candle holders wrapped in twine and the birch vases used for the centerpieces.

Colorado weather can be quite unpredictable…so Ashley and Kendall made sure their guests would be comfortable with a romantic fire-pit complete with gifts of comfy Pashmina wraps for their guests to cuddle up and stay warm.

Ashley and Kendall love to ski.  Their guest book was replaced with a pair of antique skis that the guests signed with congratulatory notes.  The names of their tables were the names of some of their favorite ski runs!

In lieu of a wedding cake, Ashley and Kendall opted for yummy pies!

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind…and we have lots of pictures to share!  First, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek from Ashley and Kendall’s gorgeous Colorado mountain wedding.  Ashley and Kendall were married at Father Dyer Church in Breckenridge and partied the night away amidst the ski slopes at Ten Mile Station.  Check back in a few days for more of Ashley and Kendall’s wedding pictures!

Andrew and I have returned from our vacation and started the process of editing the many, many pictures that we took.  It’s going to take a little while to get through all of those pictures…but be sure to check back to see some of the amazing places that we visited!  In the mean time, I thought I’d share some of Katie and Troy’s engagement pictures.  We met Katie and Troy out in Hollywood to shoot their engagement session.  It was actually the first time that we met…as Katie and Troy live in California and booked us over the phone for their wedding this August at the Lakewood Country Club here in Colorado.  We spent the evening walking and shooting around the Sunset Strip and getting to know Katie and Troy a bit better and soaking in a bit of the California sun (although it was a bit chilly that evening)!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session – be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think…enjoy!
