Vail Village and the Colorado mountains were the perfect backdrop for Kelly and Scotty’s destination engagement session!  This Florida couple loves skiing so much that they actually have local Epic Ski passes and try to come back to Colorado for 1 – 2 weeks during the winter.  So we were so excited that we were able to squeeze in an engagement session for them while they were out for their little ski vacation in the Colorado mountains.   After spending the afternoon with these two, we’re definitely bummed that we’ll miss the wedding this December!  It sounds like it is going to be quite the party back in their home state of Alabama!  Can’t wait to see some of the pictures of everything that they’re planning!

Congratulations, Kelly and Scotty!  We loved getting to spend a couple of hours getting to hear more about your love story and capturing these moments for you both.  Plus – your accents were adorable…we could’ve listened to you speak all day! :)

Her father specifically told her…”Don’t move to Australia and fall in love with an Aussie.”  She didn’t listen.  :)  We officially met Sara (and her lovely mother, Gayle) over the holidays – while she was back in Colorado finishing up some last minute wedding details.  We knew that she was going to be so much fun to work with – and when we finally got to meet Brent the week before their wedding – it was easy to see that they were meant for each other.  Two of a kind – completely at ease with each other – united with the same adventurous, warm spirit.

The whirlwind of a week that led up to their big day is not one they’ll forget soon…and decidedly one that their friends will laugh about for many years to come!  Just days before Sara and Brent said “I Do” they took several friends and family members for a snowshoe/hut trip in the Colorado mountains…and ended up getting slightly lost.  (Turned out they were only a few hundred yards from where they needed to be…but I’m sure that their family and friends were cursing the day that they agreed to such a thing!)  Everything ended up being just fine…and the story will be one that they’ll continue to tell for many, many years.

To me…it’s the perfect representation of the right attitude to have towards a wedding.  Inevitably…something will end up not going as planned.  But as Sara and Brent said…”It doesn’t matter.  At the end of the day you’re still marrying your best friend!”  What could be more perfect than that?!?  Many more pictures from their February wedding up at the Boettcher Mansion coming soon – but here are a few of Sara and Brent’s engagement pictures…enjoy!

So…is it just me?  Or have you noticed that there are a lot of Iowans living out here in Colorado, too?!?  And do they all seem to know each other?!?  :)  But seriously…there are a lot!  No complaints here though – every single one that I’ve met have been equally hilarious and nice!  So when my sister – and her now fiance, Nick – heard that Ann and Ryan were getting married we were really excited to meet them (and secretly wishing that they’d want us to be the photographers!)  After meeting the two of them – we knew it was going to be one heck of a good time!

It seems like so long ago that we photographed Ann and Ryan’s engagement session up in the Colorado mountains.  It’s been a pretty mild winter out here in Colorado – and sadly, there isn’t much snow left!  But there was still plenty of snow last month when we met them at the top of Loveland Pass.  We had so much fun laughing and tromping through the snow with these two and we can’t wait for their wedding this June in Galena, IL and Dubuque, IA!  Here are some of our favorites from their session…enjoy!

We love spending time in the Colorado mountains…even if only for a few hours!  So when Kaitlin and Tj contacted us about doing an engagement session up in the Rocky Mountains…we couldn’t resist!  Kaitlin and Tj are getting married in Lancaster, Pennsylvania…and we had such a great time shooting their engagement session that we wish we could go to their rustic-inspired farm wedding – it’s sure to be an amazing time!  We met Kaitlin and Tj on the top of Loveland Pass – if you’ve never been up there you should definitely go…it feels like you’re on the top of the world and the views are spectacular!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy!

So clearly we are WAY behind on blogging…but if you know anything about Andrew and I, it’s that we love Christmas!  I mean, we really love Christmas…to the point that we have a Christmas countdown on our computer year-round.  It’s 312 days away…just in case you were wondering! :)  So we apologize for our slacking in the blogging department…we’ve got a lot of catching up to do!  But we figured there wouldn’t be any better place than to start back up with Kelsey and Chris’ adorable engagement session in Vail, CO during the holidays.

We love when we meet with a couple and instantly know that we want to work with them; and that’s exactly how we felt meeting Kelsey and Chris.  They are getting married at the Vail Cascade in September of this year and we are very excited for their day!  Here are a few of our favorites from their session…enjoy! :)

So get this…Beth and Shawn met at a wedding that we photographed!  In fact, Beth was a bridesmaid at the wedding.  How sweet is that?!?  And of course we were even more excited when Cassie and Nate passed our names along to these two when they started planning their wedding.  Heck, that’s the best compliment we can get! :)  We were certainly looking forward to officially meeting them while they were out in Colorado around the Holidays.  Their idea for the perfect engagement session…open fields of a snow!  We found the perfect location up in Evergreen and it even began to snow towards the end of the session…perfect!  Here are a few of our favorites…
