He’s Jewish…she’s Christian.  He’s Australian…she’s American.  But the beautiful thing is – it doesn’t matter.  Sara and Brent’s wedding was the perfect blend of both of their styles, religions and cultures.  Their wedding reflected the two of them to a tee – both individually and together as a couple.  We’re so happy that we were able to be there with Sara and Brent on their big day – and we know these two are going to have many wonderful adventures together as a married couple!  Here are some of our favorites from their wedding up at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden, CO.

Special props to Sara’s mother, Gayle and Mark from Events Unwrapped – who did a great majority of the planning and prep work as the bride and groom live in Australia!  The day was absolutely perfect and I know Sara and Brent greatly appreciated all of your hard work!

Sara slipped into her wedding gown at her parents house – just a few minutes before the traditional bedeken ceremony.

She wore her grandmother’s ring – and her future father-in-law made shawls for each of the girls…

We headed up to Red Rocks for a few wedding party pictures and some portraits of Sara and Brent before the ceremony began.

Then we headed up to the Boettcher Mansion for a few more pictures before the ceremony…

Then the wedding ceremony was ready to start…I love the look on Brent’s face when he saw Sara and her dad walking down the aisle.

She was pretty happy, too!

Their brothers served as the emcees for the reception – introducing each person before they gave their toast.  They did a great job!

Winter weddings are quickly becoming some of our favorites!  Especially when the weather cooperates and provides a perfect blanket of snow on the ground…and beautiful sunshine and blue skies for the wedding day.  Corrie and Scott hoped for just that type of weather for their wedding last month up at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden, Colorado…and I think they got just what they hoped for!  We had such a great time working with this laid back Seattle couple…here are a few of our favorites from their big day…

This moment is always one of my favorites.  When the bride and groom have just walked out of the ceremony and have their first moment to take a breath and celebrate…it’s always full of emotion!

In lieu of a guestbook, Corrie and Scott had their guests sign an antique ski and a hockey stick – two of their favorite sports!

Ready made s’mores and creme brulee…yum!  Corrie and Scott actually first met at a friends wedding where they shared their creme brulee for dessert…so it was a must at their wedding!

Corrie’s grandmother started off the speeches by reading a beautiful Valentine from her late husband – amazing.

A little over a month ago we were up in Golden for one of our last weddings of the year.  Stacey and Sean were married at the Boettcher Mansion at the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden.  It was a crisp, fall Colorado day…and it couldn’t have been more perfect for this pair!  Julie with Bliss Elevated made sure that they entire day ran smoothly!  Stacey and Sean are two of a kind.  Generous, kind, loving and completely hilarious!  We couldn’t have been more happy to be with them on their big day…here are some of our favorites…

I little over a month ago Andrew and I had the great pleasure of photographing Katie and Andy’s wedding up at the Boettcher Mansion in Golden.  Emily Lenich of Particulars Planning did an incredible job with all of the details of the day.  Despite the snowy and cold weather outside, the entire day went off without a hitch…well…I guess there was one hitch!  Katie and Andy got hitched!  :)  Congrats, you two!  We feel so lucky to have been there to celebrate with you!  Here are a few of our favorites from the day…

We love working with couples that are fun and have a great sense of humor.  Mostly because we like to think that we’re pretty fun and we certainly think we’re funny!  So when we first met Brika and Justin, we instantly knew that they we were going to have a blast working with them!  And we sure did!  Brika and Justin were married about a month ago up at the Boettcher Mansion at the top of Lookout Mountain in Golden.  They opted for a morning wedding…serving espresso and a yummy brunch.  They both love breakfast foods…so it was the perfect fit!  We loved being there with Brika & Justin and their family and friends on their big day – here are a few of our favorites!

Occasionally Andrew and I will get an inquiry from a couple seeking to have engagement pictures taken locally.  Typically they are getting married out of state and just want to have some pictures taken in Colorado.  We’re always a bit anxious as we drive to the shoot.  After all, we’ve never met the couple and we really never know what to fully expect.  It always turns out just fine…and we always walk away from the engagement sessions saying “Dang, wish we could shoot the wedding!”

This was exactly the case with Brigid and Patrick.  They are getting married in New York next month, but wanted some engagement pictures in their hometown of Boulder…a place that reflects them at this time in their lives.  They had the best idea for a location for the shoot!  Their home overlooks a real-life working farm, complete with chickens, cows and peacocks…yes, peacocks (apparently they scare away the coyotes).  So Brigid and Patrick got up the courage to ask the property’s owners if it would be alright to take some pictures on their land, and we’re so happy that they said yes!  It was so much fun shooting around the animals, hay and barns…we could have stayed and photographed there all night!

Brigid and Patrick – Thank you so much for opening your lives to us, even if only for a brief moment.  You’re absolutely adorable together and we’re so happy that everything worked out.  We wish you the absolute best and be sure to send us a link to some of the wedding pictures…and yes, we really do wish we could be there!  :)

Kind of a funny moment.  While shooting around the property we all looked up to our car and saw one of the peacocks on the hood.  He left a nice present on there for us too! :)

After a beautiful ceremony at the Trinity United Methodist Church (See Part 1 of this blog post), we took some portraits of Kaitie and Klint around downtown Denver.  The alleyways and streets of downtown Denver always offer so many fun and unique photo opportunities…here are a few of our favorites!  Enjoy! :)

Fresh cut lavender and candles along the mantle of the fireplace.  It smelled amazing!  All of the music at the reception was played from vinyl records…how cool is that?!?  Love this idea!
